Veteran Rex Merritt of Billings captured the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod main event Sunday at the Monett Motor Speedway in Monett, Mo., during the 48th Annual 4-State Dirt Track Championships.

A packed house, exciting side-by-side racing and some real "wow" moments highlighted the event that saw Merritt come from the seventh starting spot to top the 24-car field.

Jackie Dalton of Carthage, Mo., came from 14th to collect runner-up honors, Neosho drivers Clint Johnson and Greg Woodcock were third and fourth, respectively, and Marshall's Sam Petty rounded out the top five finishers.
