Joe Berry Clash of the B-Mods, fireworks, Union Night this Friday at Lakeside Speedway

The $1,500-to-win Joe Berry Clash of the B-Mods highlights the racing action this Friday, July 6, for racing on the river’s edge at the Lakeside Speedway.

Competitors will compete in preliminary events to sort out the lineup for the night’s main events and increased purse. Along with the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, the USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, E-Mods and Mod-Lites will also compete.

Drivers expected to contend for the win include multiple-time Lakeside winner Tim Powell, along with Lakeside Speedway regulars Brad Smith, Luke Nieman, Chase Galvan, Don Marrs, and Patrick Royalty along with Andy Bryant and drivers who may stop in for the big payout.

Friday night also serves as Union Night. Local Union members may show their official union card identifier at the general admission gate and receive free admission courtesy of Lakeside Speedway.

In addition to the night’s racing, the evening will finish off with an upgraded version of the already spectacular fireworks show in honor of Independence Day. If you saw last year’s fireworks, you already know how fantastic it was and we have an even better show planned for attendees this year.

The pit gate opens at 5 p.m., spectator gates open at 5:30, the drivers meeting begins at 7:15, hot laps start at 7:30 and racing gets underway at 8.

General admission is $12, seniors (65+) and membrs of the military are $10, kids (ages 7-12) are $6 and children (6 & under) are free. Air-conditioned suite tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids (ages 2-10). A family 4-pack is just $30 for general admission and gets two adults and two kids (ages 7-12) into the races, plus kids receive a coupon for two hot dogs and two Kool-Aid Jammers. Pit passes are $30, kids (6 & under) are $10.

Heading into this week’s competition, Kevin Anderson is the leader over David Oxford and Brett Heeter in the Holley USRA Stock Cars. Tim Powell owns a 30-point advantage ahead of Brad Smith in the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod standings with Luke Nieman in third place. Nic Bidinger holds a five-point advantage over Mark Schafman in USRA Modified points while former track champion Kerry Davis sits in third.
