I-35 Speedway BBQ Bash ready to cook

The 2nd Annual Smokin Trackside BBQ Bash is coming to I-35 Speedway on August 11 and 12, 2017. Racing and BBQ what can be more American? Both nights will include entertainment, Friday night events include a People’s Choice Chicken Wing Barbeque contest and music by AJ Gaither One Man Band. Attendance on Friday night August 12 is FREE to the public. Saturday night will be the always exciting always competitive racing provided by the USRA Modifieds, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and Holley USRA Stock Cars, plus Grand Nationals, Pure Stocks, Sport Compacts, and E-Mods.

Want to taste some outstanding barbeque before the judges get to taste it? Well come out Friday night and be a part of the Chicken Wing Contest. The People’s Choice Barbeque Contest will determine who can barbeque the best chicken wings. For a nominal fee, you get to decide which Barbeque Team cooks the best wings. Try the succulent wings and then vote for the wing that you believe taste the best. If that is not enough of a meal for you the Trackside Bar and Grill will be open with barbeque pulled pork or pulled chicken sandwich special which will include 2 sides. As always drinks will be available at the Trackside Bar and Grill. After eating you can relax to the music of AJ Gaither.

Saturday will bring the KCBS event in full swing as the BBQ chefs will be turning in their various meats for judging. The aroma of the racetrack on Saturday morning will make one hungry. Awards will be presented to the top BBQ teams. The Grand Champion of the Smokin Trackside BBQ contest will receive an automatic entry in the Jack Daniel’s World Championship and the American Royal Invitational BBQ contest.

Make your plans now to be at I-35 Speedway for barbeque and racing on Friday and Saturday night August 11 and 12. Gates open at 5 p.m. each day. Friday concert is free, Saturday tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors, Children 7 to 12 are $6, children 6 and under are free.
