Heydenreich snags North Central Arkansas Speedway checkers

YELLVILLE, Ark.—The last night of the season points chase got underway with near-perfect racing conditions Friday evening at North Central Arkansas Speedway.

The Out-Pace USRA B-Modified feature event saw Jason Snodgrass holding down the pole position, and with Robert 'Hollywood' Heydenreich sitting outside of the front row in his inaugural visit to the speedway.

Heydenreich rode the high line to lead off turn two and never looked back on the way to winning the caution-free event as the 20-year-old driver picked up his first-ever feature win.

Snodgrass pressured Heydenreich all race but never closed enough to make a sustained challenge for the lead. With his second-place finish Snodgrass claimed the 2016 NCAS points championship.

Sam Petty made his first appearance of the year at the speedway, pressing Snodgrass early and holding off a mid-race challenge from Cody Acklin on his way to a third-place finish.

The next race on the 2016 race schedule will be Friday, Oct. 14, featuring a $1,000-to-win Late Model feature race along with the normally scheduled full race program.

North Central Arkansas Speedway is located between Yellville and Flippin on Highways 62-412. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and those with a military ID, $5 for those ages 7-15 with 6 and under getting in free. A family plan is $25 for two adults and their family members 15 and under.
