ENNIS, Texas—The Texas Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS) made their first visit to the 85 Speedway in Ennis, Texas, Saturday night. Thirty-six of these bad boys competed in four heats and two B-Mains to make the 24-car, 20-lap, $1,500-to-win A-Main.

The TOMS was one of six classes of cars that competed in the 85 Speedway Texas Roundup. It was a long night, but the wait was worth it.

Charlie Smith took the early lead while hard charger Sean Jones, who started from the 14th postion, spun out and went to the rear of the field. Halfway through the feature, however, Jones was able to scream past Smith for the lead.

Jones seemed to be well on his way to victory, but a caution came out with two laps to go. On the restart, Smith was able to power past Jones and pick up his first TOMS feature win.

Jason Hammond was third, Jack Sartain finished fourth and Troy Taylor ran hard for fifth. Chris Huckeba, Trevor Egbert, Bolden, Jordan and Ewell, rounded out the top 10.
