Fito Gallardo won the USRA Modified feature.

EL PASO, Texas—Welcome back to the Western Tech Speedway Park for another great night of racing with the USRA Modifieds and Holley USRA Stock Cars. The track went to a perfect dry slick for some epic slide job showdowns.

Holley USRA Stock Cars were definitely an interesting one as we started nine cars and ended with only three tonight! Jaime Torres would get the lead early in this one and take off from the field. A few cars pulled off after only a few laps and stayed out of the way forTorres to just keep cruising. Victor Colorbio moved into second with 12 to go but Torres was way up ahead. Colorbio was unable to close in and with 10 laps to go mechanical trouble struck and his night was done. Chris Mijares inherited second place but Torres was absolutely gone. Aasa Flores raced into third with eight laps to go and the caution came out for Torres who broke the front end and drove straight into the wall over turn1. Mijares inherited the lead and held on until the checkered flew. Flores was second and Jaime Montelongo slid into second.

The USRA Modifieds where the headliner tonight and Fito Gallardo sliced and diced his way into the lead at the start. Phillip Houston moved into second and with 6 laps to go the field bunched for the restart. When the final flag fell, Gallardo won yet another feature event in the USRA Modifieds. Houston had a hard charge tonight to take second.

If you missed all the great racing tonight then don’t be late next weekend as the Border International 305 Winged Sprint Cars go at it once again with Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods also on the card. Gates open at 5:30 and racing starts at 7:45.
