Gallardo, Torres winners at Western Tech Speedway Park

EL PASO, Texas—It was Salute to Indy at the Western Tech Speedway Park Friday. Active military was honored tonight as we say thank you for everything they do for us, and it was $1,000 to win the USRA Modified feature which led to some spectacular racing.

The Sun Valley Hardware USRA Stock Cars took to the track first with last week's winner, Jaime Torres, leading the way quickly and swiftly. Jason Josselyn and Victor Colorbio had a solid battle for second as Torres pulled away for his third win in a row. Josselyn was second and Colorbio rounded out the top three.

Bumper Jones started inside row two but wasted no time going to the lead in the USRA Modified main event. Jake Gallardo was trying to make moves and sticking it high and low and on lap 11 he made it down low underneath Jones and the show as on. Gallardo never look back and after a clean 25 laps become $1,000 richer. Phillip Houston was the night's hard charger as he gained some serious momentum at the end to move from eight to second. Jones held onto a third-place finish.
