Sizzling summer racing continues at Central Missouri Speedway Saturday

WARRENSBURG, Mo.—Although fans and drivers are looking ahead to this weekend’s action at Central Missouri Speedway, many attendees from last Saturday are still reminiscing about the USRA Modified main event, which was one for the ages.

The end results saw Dalton Kirk of Edgerton, Kan., emerge as the winner for his first-ever $1,000-to-win weekly main event, which featured no less than four lead changes among four drivers in a race that went down to the wire and kept fans on their edge of their seats as the race unfolded.

Saturday at CMS is Better Country KIX 105.7 FM and Budweiser Night. Racing is expected to be just as sizzling as summer temperatures with USRA Modifieds return for another $1,000-to-win, $160-to-start main event. Street Stocks, B-Mods and Pure Stocks fill out the fast-paced program.

CMS is just over a week away from its annual Kids Night. Donations for the event are being collected from the racing family. The event takes place on Saturday, Aug. 1. Donations are requested to stuff goodie bags that all kids up to the age of 12 will receive on their big night. Planned events for the kids include a chance to win bicycles and backpacks, plus six different age groups in boys and girls divisions will compete in foot races on the track during intermission.

Every child up to age 12 in attendance will receive a free hot dog and drink and every child will go home with a goodie bag stuffed full of various school supplies, trinkets, coupons, and other surprises. To donate to kid’s night, bring items to the races on July 25th or drop them off at the track on the morning of August 1st by 10 a.m., prior to the track staff making final arrangements for the event and filling the bags with donated items. Look for the special tab on the CMS website titled “Kids Night Info for Aug. 1.”
