Dotson blows competition away in Humboldt Speedway Fourth of July weekend action


HUMBOLDT, Kan.—A full moon Friday night and perfect weather conditions brought out some of the best of the best USRA Modifieds for a $2,000-to-win, 35-lap shoot-out to kick off the Fourth of July weekend at the Humboldt Speedway.

Topping the field was Hallsville, Mo., driver Matt Dotson, who proved untouchable on his way to the feature win. Runner-up was Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas. Taking third was Mitch Keeter of Webb City, Mo., and Mt. Hope driver Tad Davis took fourth with Chase Domer of Nevada, Mo., fifth.

USRA B-Mod feature action was a $500-to-win affair, captured by Bonner Springs ace Lucas Issacs. Tim Van Gotten was runner-up while Tyler Kidwell, Brandon Jones and Jimmie Davis filled out the top five spots.

Post race, fans were treated to a magnificent fireworks display courtesy of promoters Rhenda and Ryan Whitworth.
