Fito first in Gallardo-rich USRA Modified feature at El Paso Speedway Park

EL PASO, Texas—Fito Gallardo won the USRA Modified feature at the El Paso Speedway Park Friday night, but it didn’t come easy as he had to battle with his brother, son and nephew all night.

Jimmy Ray put up the best fight as he led 19 of the 25 laps before Gallardo could catch him.

Josh Gallardo started on the pole with his dad, Ricky Gallardo, to his outside. Ray had the inside of row 2 Fito Gallardo started to his outside. The fourth Gallardo on the track was Fito Gallardo's son, Jake Gallardo, who started in seventh.

With five laps to go, Fito Gallardo made the pass of Ray stick and then checked out to record the win. Ray held on for second, followed by Josh Gallardo, Royal Jones and Ricky Gallardo.

In the USRA Stock Car feature, Jason Josselyn took control early on and led every lap to the checkered flag. Todd Froats, Robert Vega and Jaime Montelongo finished second, third and fourth.
