Holley Iron Man Series schedule features 31 dates for USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods


WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—The 2015 racing season will be the sixth for the Holley Iron Man Series, and the biggest and boldest schedule yet is in place for the popular series featuring USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods.

A combination of exciting, new venues and familiar facilities highlight the 2014 campaign which boasts 29 dates at 16 of the finest dirt ovals in Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri.

The Holley Iron Man Series will run in conjunction with the United States Modified Touring Series at most events, including the season-opening tripleheader at the Caney (Kan.) Valley Speedway on Friday, March 20; Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway on Saturday, March 21; and I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo, on Sunday, March 22.

Two weeks later, USRA B-Mods will share the spotlight all three days at the King of America V presented by Chix Gear Racewear back at the Humboldt Speedway, March 26-28. The event pays $500 to win Thursday, $2,000 to win Friday and $1,000 to win Saturday.

For the second straight year, the season finale for both divisions will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, during the 2nd Annual USRA National Championships at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.

Overall, there are 19 nights of racing for the USRA Stock Cars and 27 nights for the USRA B-Mods. Points for the Holley Iron Man Series will include the best 16 finishes for USRA Stock Cars and best 20 finishes for USRA B-Mods.

Both classes will be in action on 18 nights during the 2015 campaign. USRA B-Mods will fly solo at nine events and USRA Stock Cars have two dates to themselves.

Both Holley Iron Man Series champions will earn $1,500 as part of the series points fund, plus numerous contingency awards from several generous USRA sponsors. The season-ending points fund for each class is as follows: 1. $1500, 2. $1000, 3. $800, 4. $600, 5. $500, 6. $400, 7. $300, 8. $250, 9. $225, 10. $200.

Each event pays a minimum of $750 to win for USRA Stock Cars and $600 to win for USRA B-Mods with the following minimum Holley Iron Man Series event payouts:

USRA Stock Car “A” Main – 1. $750, 2. $550, 3. $450, 4. $375, 5. $325, 6. $280, 7. $250, 8. $220, 9. $190, 10. $170, 11. $150, 12. $140, 13. $130, 14. $125, 15. $120, 16. $115, 17. $110, 18. $105, 19-20. $100; Tow $75. (Entry fee: $30 licensed, $40 non-licensed).

USRA B-Mod “A” Main – 1. $600, 2. $450, 3. $350, 4. $300, 5. $250, 6. $200, 7. $180, 8. $160, 9. $140, 10. $130, 11. $120, 12. $110, 13. $100, 14. $90, 15. $85, 16-20. $80; Tow $50. (Entry fee: $25 licensed, $35 non-licensed).

To be eligible for points funds, drivers must possess a valid USRA competitor license, utilize the American Racer KK704 tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the Holley Iron Man Series events for their division. Drivers in both classes also earn national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Two-time USRA Stock Car national champion Mitch Hovden of Decorah, Iowa, is the two-time defending Holley Iron Man Series USRA Stock Car champion. Other former champions include Tom Schmitt (2012), Mike Van Genderen (2011) and Nathan Wood (2010).

Cory Crapser of Chippewa Falls, Wis., captured his second straight Holley Iron Man Series title for the USRA B-Mods in 2014. Other former champions include Trevor Hunt (2012) and Cayden Carter (2011).
