Two huge nights of racing Labor Day Weekend at CMS

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The final special events of the year at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) are set to roll off this weekend on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, highlighted by the first-ever “Twin $1500-to-Win” USRA Modified feature events!

The Saturday race program includes $1500-to-win USRA Modifieds plus Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and two guest classes, including fan favorites Lightning Sprints and ULMA Late Models, plus Karaoke after the races!

All regional lightning sprint groups are welcome to compete during the $650-to-win main event! ULMA Late Model drivers are winding down their championship season with a tight point’s battle heading into the final few races and all contenders are expected to be on hand Saturday night.

On Sunday, the track roars back to life with a second night of action during ‘Open Wheel Madness’ night, which includes another $1500-to-win USRA Modified main event, a $1500-to-win USRA B-Mod main event, plus Mod Lites and the W.A.R. Sprint Car Series in their final appearances at CMS this year.

For Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, admission prices are as follows: Adults $15, Senior Citizens 65+ and Active Duty Military w/I.D. $12, Kids aged 6 to 12 years $5, Children five and under are free. Pit passes are $30 each night.

There are no track registration fees for competitors throughout the weekend. However, Modified and B-mod drivers MUST have a USRA license or purchase $10 temporary license on-site for each night of competition. For B-Mods, the entry fee is $50 if the driver has raced twice at CMS during a regular weekly race program PRIOR to this event.

If the B-Mod driver has not raced twice PRIOR to this event at CMS during a regular weekly race program, the entry fee is $75. Entry fees includes driver pit pass for one night of competition only.

For USRA Modified drivers, there is a $50 entry fee per night entered if the driver has raced twice at CMS during a regular weekly race program PRIOR to this event. If the Modified driver has not raced twice PRIOR to this event during a regular weekly race program, the entry fee is $75. Entry fee includes driver pit pass for one night of competition.

USRA Modified drivers will take part in heat races, which will line up by draw. After the heats, the top 16 drivers in passing points will automatically be locked into the main event. Then, the top 8 from passing points will redraw for their A-main starting position. Those drivers not making it into the top 16 in passing points will participate in a b-main event to determine starting positions 17 thru 24. The May and July special events DO NOT COUNT towards the “raced twice prior to” scenario!

For B-Mod drivers on Sunday, August 31, the 24-car starting field for the 25-lap main event will line up by passing points awarded during heat races. Driver entry fees for USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Modifieds includes driver pit pass only for one night of competition. Same night entries are available in ALL competing classes throughout the weekend, there is no “pre-entry” for any competing class.

ULMA Late Models, Lightning Sprints, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks will draw for their starting positions and compete in heat races and main events. The main events for each of the classes will line up by passing points earned in the heat races, with the driver earning the most passing points starting on pole position of the main event. This same scenario will apply to the Mod Lites on Sunday night. W.A.R. Sprint Car participants will compete under their normal race procedures. ULMA membership is mandatory, temp licenses are available on site.

Rain date for the weekend is Monday, September 1, with one hour earlier start times. Primitive camping is permitted at CMS; however, there is no dumpsite. Campfires are allowed only in fire pits. For more information call (816) 229-1338 in advance to inquire about parking campers or placing tents. All personnel on the speedway ground are responsible for their own disposal of waste items and will be held accountable for their actions!

No track points will be awarded in any classes this weekend; however, USRA Modifieds will compete for National USRA points on both Saturday and Sunday while USRA B-Modified drivers will earn National USRA points on Sunday night during their $1500-to-win special event. ULMA competitors will earn ULMA points, W.A.R. Sprint Car drivers will earn series points.
