Gallardo, McDaniel roll up feature wins at El Paso Speedway Park

EL PASO, Texas -- A great track called for great classes like the USRA Stock Cars and USRA Modifieds Friday night at the El Paso Speedway Park.

The USRA Modified main was a good one, as we almost saw a new face in victory lane tonight. Rocko Gallardo would lead almost from flag to flag with Royal Jones following, and Fito Gallardo in third. A late caution would fly for Dana Fite stopping in turn four after getting back onto the racing surface. That would allow Fito Gallardo to get around Rocko on the restart. Rocko Gallardo wouldn't give up though. The brothers would go side by side for the lead and make contact in turn four as Rocko just slammed Fito. Both drivers would manage to keep it straight and Fito was the winner.

In the USRA Stock Cars, Gill Almanza would step up his game to give Justin Lasiter and Jon McDaniel a run for their money. Almanza would settle with a podium finish, McDaniel would hold off Lasiter to add another win to the collection. McDaniel is moving up in USRA national points.
