Tesch, Oliver secure July 5 checkers at I-90 Speedway

HARTFORD, S.D. -- Tyler Tesch had to pour it on to stay ahead of Dennis Martin in the evening's USRA B-Mod feature Saturday at the I-90 Speedway. Tesch started second and grabbed the lead on the first lap. Martin then got around pole-sitter Marty Myers to mount his challenge. Tesch held off Martin for all 15 laps for his first ever win at I-90 Speedway. Myers also slammed the door on points leader Brock Hess for a third place finish which was much needed after four straight nights outside the top ten.

Dylan Fitzpatrick would probably like to forget the 10th lap of the 12 lap USRA Hobby Stock A-Main. Fitzpatrick led the first nine laps with little trouble while the rest of the field battled to move up. Fitzpatrick miscalculated the third turn on lap 10, spinning in front of the field and bringing out the caution. Zach Olivier took over the lead and outlasted Derrick Scott to the finish for his second win of the season.

"It was a different track tonight. I tried a few different lines," said Olivier.

He also said he thought he could catch Fitzpatrick over the final laps had Fitzpatrick continued to lead. Dustin Gulbrandson finished third behind Scott. Mike Chaney was fourth and Tim Waltner fifth.
