CMS pre-season driver registration, meeting Saturday, Jan. 11

WARRENBRUG, Mo. -- On Saturday, Jan. 11, at the ABC building in Warrensburg, Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) hosts a pre-season driver registration and “meet the staff” event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Track Officials will review new procedures in the general race rules manual and will assist drivers with questions as well as registration. Drivers may save $10 on their season registration by registering at the meeting.

CMS is pleased to announce the re-launch of the all-new www.centralmissourispeedway.net. Car class rules, the revised general race rules, payouts, updated schedule of events, and driver registration forms are just a few of the documents available at the click of a button. As additional information and documents become available, CMS will populate various areas of the site.

The Wingless Auto Racing (WAR) Sprint Series is scheduled to make an appearance at CMS on opening night for the 2014 season, Saturday, April 26. In WAR series history, drivers including defending and past champions Mitchell Moore and Austin Alumbaugh, along with Taylor Walton, Chad Shields, Aaron Kuhn, Casey Willis, John Helm, and Steven Cross have turned laps with the series. Pure Stock rules are now available on the CMS website. The Pure Stock class is the newest division at CMS for weekly racing. The hopes are this division will provide an avenue for beginner and lower-budget drivers to become involved in racing. Modified and B-Modified divisions will utilize USRA rules. Street Stock division rules are also available on the website. Guest classes such as ULMA, MALS, MLS, Allstar Midgets, Grand Nationals, Show-Me Vintage, and WAR Sprints will utilize their respective car class rules as written when they compete at CMS.

Various job opportunities at CMS are open to serious and well-qualified individuals. Positions include janitorial services and post-event trash and bleacher cleanup as well as weekly lawn care. A parts and tire salesmen or business is being sought for weekly attendance to take care of parts, tires, and fuel. Push-truck operators are also needed. Lastly, the track is looking for a contract vendor to operate concessions. Season passes for race fans are now on sale. Passes include ALL scheduled race events at the track throughout the year. Adult passes are $215, Military and Senior Citizens 65+ are $160, and Kids passes for those aged 6 to 12 are $100. There are 21 race nights on the CMS schedule for 2014.

Another exciting addition at the track for 2014 will be the use of the Speednet tracking system for results and standings. This will bring CMS up-to-date with near real-time information after events throughout the season.

The registration fee for the weekly championship classes, which includes Modifieds, B-Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks, is $40 if paid prior to February 1, 2014. After the deadline and for the remainder of the year the fee is $50. Track registration fees do not apply to guest classes. CMS will celebrate its weekly drivers with its own end-of-season championship banquet in the fall.

CMS is located 3.5-miles north of Warrensburg, MO from the junction of Highways 50 and 13 in Warrensburg just north of the new by-pass round-a-bout or from the Higginsville exit from I-70, south on Highway 13 for twelve and half miles.
