GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas—The Texas Outlaw Modified Series featuring USRA Modifieds will kick off their inaugural season next Friday, April 4, at the Mountain Creek Speedway in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The event is the first of 10 currently scheduled shows that will showcase some of the best USRA Modified drivers in the heart of Texas in action at five or more dirt ovals during the 2014 season.

Each event will pay a minimum of $1,500 to win and $150 to start, with several contingency awards up for grabs at each event including a $50 Hard Charger Award. The entry fee per event is $50.

The Texas Outlaw Modified Series was created to reinforce outlaw modified racing within Texas and Southern Oklahoma. The region boasts a strong core of racers that can compete with anyone in the country and who have a large presence when the USMTS Modifieds invade their home tracks. The goal is to allow local racers the opportunity to race against each other for a healthy purse while not interfering with any other USRA-sanctioned events of "big money" show dates. The series supports current outlaw modified tracks and, if given the opportunity, hope to race at several traditionally non-outlaw tracks.

In addition, the Texas Outlaw Modified Series allows the racers from the south here a chance to challenge for the USRA national title by maximizing car counts and bonus points. With that said, the competition will be tough and there will not be any easy victories. The driver comes out on top at the end of the 2014 campaign will have earned the title.

It all kicks off at Mountain Creek Speedway on April 4 for the first of two shows slated for the quarter-mile track. From there the series travels to Greenville for the first of four events to race at the always-tough Superbowl Speedway. The famed half-mile speedplant of Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite is on the schedule for July 4 and Oct. 17. The series 'lone date to Oklahoma occurs on Aug. 1 at John Webb's Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, which is sure to be a hot time.
