LA MONTE, Mo. -- The Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA B-Mods will be back in action this Friday, May 17, at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo. The winner will take home $500 while the main event pays a minimum of $75 to start for the USRA B-Mods.

USMTS Modifieds will also be on the racing card. Gates open at 4:00, hot laps begin at 6:45 and racing starts at 7:15 for the Schwab’s Tinker Shop Show-Me Shootout at Mike & Carol White’s 3/8-mile clay oval located next to Whiteman Air Force Base.

Fans can often see several aircraft overhead throughout the day. Whiteman Air Force Base is one of only two Air Force units to operate the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber.

On race day, fans can pick up a coupon good for $2 off adult grandstand admission at Casey’s General Stores locations in Knob Noster, La Monte and Sedalia while supplies last.

With four different winners in the first five events, Jackson is the only driver in the top 10 who has reached victory lane this season. Brian Bolin is the only repeat winner, capturing back-to-back checkers during the King of America III Modified Nationals at the Humboldt Speedway in March.

Final points will be determined by the best 15 finishes for USRA B-Mods and best 10 finishes for USRA Stock Cars. Although a license is not required to compete in an Iron Man Challenge event, drivers must possess a valid USRA Competitor License, utilize the American Racer KK704 racing tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the events for their division to be eligible for points funds.

Both Iron Man Challenge champions in 2013 will earn $1,500 as part of the series points fund, plus numerous contingency awards from the many generous USRA sponsors. Each event will also award national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.
