Grays Harbor Raceway announces cancellation of Sept. 22 program
ELMA, Wash. -- The Grays Harbor Raceway team has decided to cancel the events of September 22nd. The main reasons for the decision are both local festivities as well as the Central Washington State Fair in Yakima. Instead there has been a race added to the schedule that will take place Oct. 6.
Sept. 29 will be the Championship Night for the 360 Sprints and the USAC Ford Focus Midgets only, while the USRA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Hornets will run a regular points race. On Oct. 6, the USRA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Hornets will have their Championship Night of 2012. Also on the card for the Oct. 6 event will be the Sportsman Sprints.
“We are saddened about the cancellation of the 22nd, but we’re very excited to have an added race and the Sportsman Sprints coming to race at Gray Harbor Raceway,” stated general manager Nikki Gamell, “October 6th is definitely going to be a fun night and should be a great way to close out the season.”
The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well asits large size. Hosting racing action from April to September regular classes include 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets. In addition, the venuewill host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-NationalTour.
