An all open wheel night on tap for GHR

ELMA, Wash. -- Fans of Grays Harbor Raceway have only a handful of opportunities to see racing on the 3/8-mile oval speed factory in 2012 as the season is rapidly coming to a close. This Saturday September 8th will feature all open-wheeled classifications at the Elma facility. The 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, and USAC Ford Focus Midgets will all be back in action for the event’s card.

“We are definitely going to have a great show this weekend at Grays Harbor Raceway and fans sure don’t want to miss it,” said General Manager Nikki Gamell, “we have a fantastic points race in the 360 Sprints between J.J. Hickle and Reece Goetz, our USRA Modifieds have produced some jaw dropping features especially towards the end, and the mighty Midgets are always fun to watch on this track.”

Defending USRA Modified champion Joe German is on a hot streak of late and that streak has propelled him in front of everyone else in the point standings by a total of one-hundred-seven markers ahead of second place in the table. German has won the last two USRA Modified features and has managed to score three total triumphs this year. German is tied with most victories in 2012 with Scott Miller who had a bit of a hot streak at the beginning half of the season. Other main event winners include Lawrence O’Conner, Tom Sweatman, Zack Simpson, Scott Lenz, Craig Moore, and the 2012 Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals winner Mark Wauge.

Saturday night’s admission is the following: Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (15-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-14) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00.
