Martin continues streak of new winners in Sunset Speedway Park USRA Modified action

BANKS, Ore. -- Despite it being cut from its originally scheduled distance Jeremy Martin will go down as a winner in 2012 at Sunset Speedway Park when he took the checkered flag on Saturday, Aug. 4. After taking the lead from the Perfection Automotive #12X of Portland pilot Mike Graham, Martin would lead the rest of the incident filled feature for the USRA Modifieds. The Banks bullring has yet to provide a repeat winner in the current season and Martin joined an impressive list, which includes Ken Schrader, when the St. Helens chauffer visited victory lane in his Reser’s Fine Foods/Wayne Martin Flooring #99 McCoy.

Earning the runner-up position was Chris Quinn of Vancouver, Washington driving once again for car owner Danny Daniels in the Dancin Bare/Double J Tire Center #23 Rayburn followed by Trent Croy of Gresham managed to cross the line in third in the John’s Frame Shop/Perfection Automotive #4 Pro Built. The balance of the top five consisted of Vancouver, Washington driver Rayun McMichael who would finish in fourth in his Dancin Bare #05 Hurrikane and Mike Sweere of McMinnville in the Sweere’s Auto Body #63 in fifth.

Trent Croy was the fastest car in time trials at 14.757 seconds amongst the thirteen entries that signed in for the evening. Earning heat race wins in preliminary action was Brandon Penney of Aloha in The Sign Shack #00 and Jeremy Martin. Winning the trophy dash that night was Tigard driver Mark Reser piloting his very own MNT Bell Construction/TK Racing Engines #21 Harris.
