Tracy Johnson on a roll, earns fifth USRA B-Mod win at I-90 Speedway

HARTFORD, S.D. -- Tracy Johnson earned his fifth USRA B-Mod win Saturday night at I-90 Speedway. It was also his third straight appearance in victory lane.

Those are pretty impressive statistics, but maybe not quite as impressive as how he won this week's feature.

Johnson, who started on the fifth row, was sent to the rear after an early-race incident which involved at least three cars. It happened in turn 1 right after a green flag and Johnson, after the race, insisted that he didn't cause the caution.

As it turned out, the call mattered little. Johnson tap-danced his way through the field, getting around the likes of Dave Mulder, Harvey Vande Weerd and Dave Kennedy near the front, and finally catching the leader, Tyler Johnson. The brothers battled intensely with Tracy on the bottom and Tyler on the cushion until Tyler spun in the second turn on the final lap.

Tracy had no problem leading the rest of the field over the last two laps with the green-white-checkered finish.

Johnson's five wins have come over the last eight weeks with his other finishes all being seconds.
