Moore collects first USRA Modified win at Grays Harbor

ELMA, Wash. -- The Saturday, July 14, event was another great race for the Grays Harbor Raceway for Pepsi Sampling Night. Classifications on hand were the return of the DirtCar Super Late Models along with the USRA Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Hornets at the 3/8-mile oval located in Elma.

Fans were treated to another thrilling USRA Modified feature as a fantastic see-saw battle occurred for most of the race for the lead between Craig Moore, Lawrence O’Conner and Joe German.

Moore, the Seabeck driver, earned the race lead early then lost it only to regain the front spot on lap 24 and go on for his first win of the season.

Jeff Foster of McCleary finished in second followed by Joe German of Aberdeen.

Port Hardy, B.C., native Lawrence O’Conner finished in fourth place followed by Hoquiam’s Zack Simpson.

Fast time in qualifications went to Foster at 15.865 seconds while heat winners were O’Conner, Moore and Tom Sweatman from Cosmopolis.
