North Central Arkansas Speedway checkers wave for Methvin

FLIPPIN, Ark. - With a more tolerable temperature then the previous two Friday nights, a large crowd turned out for a great night of racing at North Central Arkansas Speedway.

The front row of the USRA Modified feature had Rusty Weir in the pole position and Kandy Methvin just to his outside left. Methvin powered into the lead on the high side of the track and never looked back as he drove to his third feature win of the year.

Rob Muilenburg started outside row three and couldn’t find any room to pass as cars were three-wide in front of him early on, but Stephen Muilenburg was able to get down to the very bottom of the speedway and moved up from his eighth place starting spot into third place in the running order behind Methvin and Jason Snodgrass by lap five. Rob finally got down to the bottom of the track himself, passing Stephen for third on lap seven. Snodgrass was unable to hold off the pressure from Stephen and Rob, slipping to fourth near the mid-point of the event, then running three wide with Stephan and Marvin Forrest before finally being forced back to fifth late in the event.

NCAS has another full race program on tap for Friday night July 20th, featuring a $1000 to in USRA Modified feature event, and go-cart racing during intermission. Also during intermission will be the traditional candy toss for children 12 and under, as well as another Racing for Education give-away for the kids during the break in the racing action.

North Central Arkansas Speedway is located between Yellville and Flippin on Hwy. 62-412. The gates open at 6:30 on Friday nights, with the racing starting at 8:30. Adult admission - $10; seniors and those with a military ID Card - $8; children 7-14 years of age - $5; kids 6 and under get in free. A family plan is just $20 for 2 adults and any children 14 and under, and a pit pass is available for $25.
