HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- A superstitious time for racing on a cooler night, on a perfectly prepped race track in Southeast Kansas, Scott Drake wired the field in the NCRA vs. USRA B-Mod Challenge at the Humboldt Speedway Friday night.

Drake topped a strong field of 38 cars. Drake lead the field from flag to flag and out-ran Travis Johnson. Jeremy Chambers cruised to a third-place finish from his inside row 5 starting spot. Jack Simmons was fourh and Jimmie Davis rounded out the top 5.

Picking up the $100 Allen's Automotive Hard Charger Award was Curt Drake.

“Fast Orange” Scott Daniels out-dueled the “Chanute Chauffeur” John Allen in a USRA Modified nail-biter. Daniels dominated the first 20 laps only to have a caution bring the charging Allen to his bumper.

On the restart they went side by side, switching the lead at the flagstand several times. One more caution had everyone on their feet as a green-white-checkered finish was in store.

Daniels drove a perfect two more laps to victory lane with Allen finishing second. Third went to the lurking Jess Folk Jr., fourth to Dalton Kirk from his 10th starting spot and rounding out the top was Cody Schniepp.
