15th Annual Musco Great American Stock Car Shootout set for July 11-12

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- Next Monday and Tuesday, July 11-12, the Southern Iowa Speedway will host the 15th Annual Musco Great American Stock Car Shootout with the region’s fastest and most talented Modified, Stock Car, B-Mod and Hobby Stock drivers trekking to the Osky half-mile oval in search of this year’s title and big cash payouts.

Fans and drivers alike will get a complete show each day with a full slate of heat races, last chance qualifiers and main events in all four classes.

Monday’s will be regular USRA Modified rules while Tuesday will be under the USRA’s “alternative” Modified rules package. Except for drivers utilizing the CT525 crate engine, the alternative rules stipulate that only flat tappet 23-degree steel-headed engines are permitted (no raised runner heads and no rollers) and spoilers will not be allowed.

The event is sanctioned by the United States Racing Association and will award national points both days in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series. The track will award 100 track points to each driver each day, except for the Modifieds on Tuesday.

Hobby Stocks will pay $400 to win Monday and $600 to win Tuesday. B-Mods will pay $500 to win Monday and $1,000 to win Tuesday. Stock Cars will pay $700 to win Monday and $1,500 to win Tuesday. Modifieds will pay $700 to win Monday and $1,000 to win Tuesday for the “alternative” rules competitors.

RULES & PROCEDURES: Complete show each day with draw/redraw format. Draw for heat race starting spot ends 15 minutes before hot laps. RACEceivers and AMB transponders will be used and available for rent or purchase. Tires permitted are American Racer KK704 or stamped Hoosier G60. Must use American Racers to earn USRA national points. All other USRA rules apply.
