Jackson fights back Franklin, broken shock in taking USRA B-Mod win at Midway

Two-time USRA B-Mod national champion Kris Jackson of Lebanon fended back a hard charge from Mitchell Franklin and a broken right front shock to take his second straight Lebanon Midway Speedway USRA B-Mod feature win.

Starting the feature from the pole, Jackson got the early lead from Donnie Jackson in setting a quick pace as Franklin wasted no time in staying in Jackson's tire tracks on the smooth racy surface.

The action behind the leaders was back and forth in mid-pack.

Caution waved on lap 6, slowing the action as officials noticed the leader's right front tire and wheel moving in a hopping motion.

Stopping to check the issue, it was noticed to be a right front shock not moving.

Jackson made the decision to continue racing.

On the restart, Franklin who grabbed his first win last year, wasted not time in applying heavy pressure to the leader as Jackson had changed his entry and exit driving style to overcome the problem.

Meanwhile, Donnie Jackson was gaining on the lead duo along with Barry White.

As the white waved, Franklin made a big run at the leader but fell just a bit short.

Following the lead duo to the finish was Donnie Jackson, White and Jerry Ellis.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action featuring USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods continues Friday, May 14, with racing at 8 p.m.
