Driver Appreciation Night on tap at Mason City Motor Speedway

Sunday, August 23, will be the next race at the Mason City Motor Speedway. Some sponsors have stepped up and we want to finish up the season strong. We will be running races each Sunday and your support is going to help us finishing what we have started.

Next Sunday was supposed to be our Drivers Appreciation Night where competitors hand out free tickets for the fans. We have since altered those plans due to COVID-19 but Driver Appreciation Night will go on as planned with the following sponsorships currently in place:

• Blake Adams at A14 Suspension is buying the pit pass for all American Racer USRA Stock Car competitors.
• Chris' Kettle Corn is buying the pit pass for all Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stock competitors.
• CRC Motorsports is buying the pit pass for the first 10 USRA Modified competitors that show up.
• Burke's Bar & Grill is buying the pit pass for all Outlaw Mini-Mod competitors.
• A good samaritan sponsor is buying the pit pass for all USRA B-Mod competitors.
• Stock Cars will be racing for a $100 hard charger bonus courtesy of Andrew and Denny Borchardt at Borchardt Repair.
• Stock Cars will be racing for $100 for a driver that can win from anywhere other than the front row courtesy of Chris Adams at Adams Racing Chassis.
• B-Mods will be racing for $100 for a driver that can win from anywhere other than the front row courtesy of Jake and J.M. Lacey.
• Hobby Stocks will be racing for a $50 hard charger bonus courtesy of Weston Koop at Chicken Koop Chassis.
• Hobby Stocks will be racing for $100 for a driver that can win from anywhere other than the front row courtesy of Jake and J.M. Lacey.

We are still looking for sponsors for the USRA Modifieds and Outlaw Mini-Mods for that night. If you want to be a part of the program, just let us know by calling (515) 832-6000 or email info@masoncitymotorspeedway.com.

Todd and Janet Staley will be adding $1,000 to any class that brings 22 or more cars that night. It will not all go to the winner—it will be spread out for every driver to take home some extra money.

For the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action on Driver Appreciation Night, the pits open at 3 p.m. and grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. Following the drivers meeting at 5:45, hot laps begin at 6 p.m. and racing gets underway at 6:30.

Tickets are $10 for adults ages 17-61. Seniors 62 and older plus juniors ages 12-16 are just $8. Kids 11 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $30 for everybody age 11 and older while youth ages 6-10 are $20. Kids 5 and under are admitted to the pits at no charge.

Recently, we announced that the schedule will be updated with some more racing at the Mason City Motor Speedway. Here are the plans:

At year's end we are going to get rid of the old half-mile track and make more room. We will make the entire facility look nice. New sponsor boards will be spread out on the front stretch and back stretch, along with a new flag pole.

We are going to add 100 feet to the front stretch and move turns 1 and 2 to the east and fix that corner. Banking is going to be better on the whole track.

A hill in the pit area for viewing the races is also in the planning stages, and a new sound system will also be happening.

Our goal is to make the Mason City Motor Speedway the best place to race in Iowa and we need your support to make it happen. When you see our schedule for 2021, we guarantee you will like what we have in store for the Mason City Motor Speedway as well as the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City.

The Mason City Motor Speedway is a 1/3-mile clay oval located 5.1 miles east of I-35 at exit 194 on SR 122 (at the North Iowa Fairgrounds). The physical address is 3700 4th St SW, Mason City, IA 50401.
