Mason City Motor Speedway back in action July 19


The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series will be in the spotlight again this week at the Mason City Motor Speedway after 93 of the best racers invaded the Action Track last Sunday for a thriller.

Pulling into the North Iowa Fairgrounds to entertain race fans this Sunday will be USRA Modifieds, American Racer USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks plus Outlaw Mini-Mods.

Last Sunday, Lucas Schott cashed in on the Christie Door Company Last Lap Challenge and pocketed an extra $150 when he passed Alex Williamson in the final turn and won the USRA Modified feature. It was the second time the bonus was claimed this season and is available this and every week at MCMS.

Here are the weekly payouts for each division:

• Modifieds: 500, 400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 175, 150, 140, 130, 120, 110, 105, 100, 95, 95, 90 to start.
• Stock Cars: 500, 400, 300, 250, 200, 175, 150, 140, 130, 125, 120, 115, 110, 105, 100 to start.
• B-Mods: 400, 300, 250, 200, 175, 150, 130, 120, 110, 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75 to start.
• Hobby Stocks: 300, 250, 200, 170, 140, 120, 110, 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65, 60 to start.

This week we will add $100 to the winner of any class that has 21 or more entries, and Modifieds will pay $750 to win with 23+ entries.

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 11-12, it’s the inaugural Stock Car Frenzy 100 with Stock Cars, B-Mods, Hobby Stocks and Tuners featuring a 100-lap Stock Car main event with a possible $10,000 to win while B-Mods race for $2,000 to win and Hobby Stocks go for $1,000 to win.

The Mason City Motor Speedway is a 1/3-mile clay oval located 5.1 miles east of I-35 at exit 194 on SR 122 (at the North Iowa Fairgrounds).
