Seets Brothers making a mark in USRA B-Mods

In the land of Lincoln, the name Seets is well known in racing for several years. Well, the old saying is carrying on a family tradition as the two brothers John Seets III and little brother Austin Seets are making a mark in the USRA B-Mod class at the Lebanon Midway Speedway this season.

The patriarch of the family, John Seets, set the mark high in Illinois dirt track racing for several seasons in both Late Model and Modified racing in his famous No. 360 cars, so much so that tracks placed bounties on him and very seldom were they collected and he would take home the extra cash.

With the COVID-19 outbreak, the state of Illinois didn't allow tracks to open but Missouri was in better shape and when you are a racing family, you find those tracks.

Making the three-hour drive one way when the season started, the Seets team found themselves finding a new home track in Lebanon and the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

John Seets III in the famous family No. 360 USRA B-Mod and little brother Austin Seets in the No. 67 will go into this Friday's action on the 1/3-mile dirt oval placed second and third, respectively, in the track points standings behind current national points leader Dillon McCowan.

Talk about making Grandpa and Dad proud.

John has been very consistent from the start of the season while second-year driver Austin started a little slower (DNS in the opener and a DNF in the next race), but has been on fire in the last three features, making the podium.

"Everyone here has really welcomed us here," stated the Seets. "The competition is tough. Kris Jackson and his 3-Link Innovation business have really helped us go in the right direction as we are on a different type of tire than what we were used to running."

Both drivers utilize the crate motor option offered in USRA.

While John Seets III has a few seasons under his belt, Austin is only in his second year of competition in the B-Mod class after graduating from the world of karting.

The Seets Racing team will be chasing that first feature win of the season this Friday, July 17, when the Lebanon Midway Speedway gets underway again in Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action as gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7 and racing at 8. The Malvern Bank Cash Money Late Model Series will also make a special appearance along with Pure Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Hornets.
