The legendary I-35 Speedway was the place to be Saturday to get your money’s worth of racing fun with the always exciting Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series classes all there to put on a non-stop night of racing action.

The super competitive USRA B-Mod preliminary heat races were claimed by Steven Clancy, Ethan Isaacs and Chase Galvan. The super smooth racetrack set up a fantastic feature race.

The Isaacs brothers (Ethan and Lucas) love smooth slick tracks and were off and running at the drop of the green. At times it was side by side and other times it was nose to tail between them. Close by were their competitors awaiting a mistake which never occurred. At the finish it was Ethan Isaac with the win followed by Lucas Isaac and then Clancy, Galvan and Daniel Harris.

American Racer USRA Stock Car national points leader Doug Keller calls I-35 Speedway home. Tonight, he had competition and lady luck was not shining on him.

The heat race winner was last year’s track champion Jeff Dixon. Keller grabbed the early lead and was cruising to what appeared to be another win when suddenly on the front straight he slowed and pulled into the infield on the backstretch.

This opened the door for a nose-to-tail do-not-make-a-mistake battle between Tony Manley and Dixon. On the 15th lap it was Manley with the win and Dixon on his bumper. Third was Austin Bouzek followed by Greg Keuhn and Gene Stigall.

Tony Manley won the American Racer USRA Stock Car main event.

The last feature of the night was a barnburner.

Ed Noll and Lee Hibner were the early contestants for the lead when Hibner passed Noll on the high side out of turn two. Darren Shaw then entered the battle, trying to pass Hibner on the low side. C.J. Lyle entered the battle for the lead following Hibner on the high side.

When all was said and done, Hibner held off all challengers to claim the win.

Shaw was second, Mark Dotson third, the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger was Austin Johnson who started ninth on the field and finished fourth, and Lyle finished fifth.

Heat race winners were Lee Hibner and Tyler Hibner.

Lee Hibner won the USRA Modified main event.
