GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. -- Officials at the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo., have announced that their B-Mod division will be sanctioned by the United States Racing Association beginning with the 2013 racing season as part of the track’s weekly Saturday night racing program.

“Based on the feedback from drivers and fans, it's just a natural to sanction the USRA B-Mods at Valley Speedway,” said the track’s promoter, Dennis Shrout. “We look forward to having them be a part of our Saturday night line-up next year.”

Drivers in the USRA Modified division will compete for a points fund worth up to $1,500 at season’s end to the track champion plus multiple contingency awards for several drivers in the class. A $10,000 cash award awaits the USRA Modified national champion in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.

USRA B-Mod competitors will see a track points fund that pays the champion $500 with $2,000 earmarked for the national champion.

Dean Wille of Warrensburg, Mo., is the defending USRA Modified track champion and also finished fifth in the national rankings.

The Iron Man Challenge series for USRA B-Mods made two stops at “The Valley” in 2012 with Brad Smith of Belton, Mo., taking the checkers in both events.

Opening night is tentatively set for April 13.

The Valley Speedway presents a racing season packed with action and excitement for family friendly entertainment. Friday night programs at the track features several open-wheel divisions, while Saturday night’s will find USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods joined by Street Stocks and Dirt Demons.
