Johnson, Kaplan, Isaacs triumph at I-35 Speedway’s Highway 36 Auto & Diesel Night

WINSTON, Mo. (May 3, 2025)—I-35 Speedway delivered high-octane racing Saturday night during Highway 36 Auto & Diesel Night featuring the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. Houston Johnson of Kansas City, Austin Kaplan of Collins, Iowa, and Ethan Isaacs of Bonner Springs, Kan., claimed victories in the USRA Modified, USRA Stock Car and USRA B-Mod divisions, respectively.

In the USRA Modified feature, Johnson—the 2021 track champion—surged to the win from the sixth starting position. Tyler Hibner of Chillicothe, who earned the 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 track titles, finished second, followed by Lee Hibner of Chillicothe in third. Brad Johnson of Cameron took fourth, and Terry Vantrump of Richmond rounded out the top five.

Tyler Hibner leads the USRA Modified points standings, with Houston Johnson trailing by six points.

The USRA Stock Car feature saw Kaplan charge from seventh to secure the victory. Matthew Lance of Savannah claimed second, with Mich Ross of Maysville in third. Clayton Brown of Mayetta, Kan., finished fourth, and Chris Dishong of Atchison, Kan., completed the top five.

Isaacs captured the USRA B-Mod feature, starting seventh and taking the checkered flag. Corey Myers of Atchison, Kan., finished second, followed by Lonnie Hibner of Chillicothe, who maintains the division points lead over Adam Dunwoodie and Myers, in third. Tim Eaton of St. Joseph took fourth, and Eddie Ingram of Kansas City, Kan., secured fifth.

I-35 Speedway’s next event, the Cletus “Mudcat” Murray Memorial, is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, featuring the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods highlighting the action.
