Williams, Whitehead, Day opening night winners at Rocket Raceway Park

Rocket Raceway Park blasted into action on Friday, hosting the first night of the 4th Annual USRA Stock Car Twin 20s as part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. The Petty, Texas, track welcomed a packed field of competitors in USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks, delivering intense racing under the Lone Star State lights.

In the USRA Stock Car feature, Shelby Williams from Bonham led the way, holding off all challengers to take the win from the pole. Lynnsee Provence from Little Rock, Ark., followed in second after starting fourth.

Defending USRA Stock Car National Champion Josh Cain from Rio Rancho, N.M., charged from 10th to claim third, while Devon Jobin from Alamogordo, N,.M., secured fourth. John Bubbus from Bauxite, Ark., rounded out the top five.

The USRA Limited Mod feature saw Justin Whitehead of Texarkana—the 2024 USRA Limited Mod and Sunoco USRA Factory Stock National Champion—take the victory, climbing from seventh to first.

Coty Tupper from Blanchard, La., finished a strong second after starting fifth. Gregory Muirhead from Mabank earned third, followed by Matthew Riskey from Commerce in fourth. Shane Hartline from Ivanhoe completed the top five.

In the Sunoco USRA Factory Stock feature, Rowdy Day from Greenville captured the checkered flag, moving up from third. Whitehead added another podium with a second-place run.

Brandon Bettis from Detroit took third, while Deaon Redmon from Paris surged from 11th to fourth. Richard George Jr. from Dodd City closed out the top five.

The opening night of the Twin 20s set a high bar for competition, with drivers showcasing skill and determination at Rocket Raceway Park. Fans are already anticipating the conclusion of the weekend’s racing action.
