Josh Cain won the USRA Stock Car main event.

The Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series headlined the USRA Winter Meltdown at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M., on Friday, delivering an electrifying night.

Fans braved cold temperatures to witness intense battles in the USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods, with Rodney Sanders, Josh Cain and Rob Moseley claiming victory in their respective feature races.

Sanders of Happy, Texas, captured the USRA Modifieds feature after racelong leader Mark Smith bobbled late in race. Starting third in his familiar No. 20, Sanders took control and held off the track's winningest driver in it's five years of action.

Jake Gallardo of Las Cruces stole the show with a stunning charge from 16th to second, earning a well-deserved podium spot. His father, Fito Gallardo, also from Las Cruces, completed the top three after starting fifth.

Rio Rancho's Josh Cain continues his march toward defending his 2024 USRA Stock Car National championship, claiming victory in the main event. He started second and held off a competitive Hunter Sandy of Albuquerque to secure the win.

Eric McNutt of Las Cruces rounded out the podium, starting on the pole but settling for third after a hard-fought race.

Rob Moseley of Los Lunas delivered a masterful performance in the USRA B-Mod feature, starting sixth and weaving through the pack to claim victory with a late pass. His strategic navigation of the tricky track earned him the top spot.

Hunter Sandy, pulling double duty in the Stock Cars and B-Mods, impressed again as he started eighth and finished second for the second time tonight.

Mike Rosales of Las Cruces held on for third, rounding out a competitive top three.

The opening night of the USRA Winter Meltdown brought high-speed thrills and standout performances, with Sanders, Cain and Moseley leading their divisions into Night 2, which promises even more excitement to come.
