Vado Speedway Park pencils-in two practice dates, sets opening weekend for May 31-June 1

While we are still putting the final touches on the new Vado Speedway Park, things are not quite ready yet so we must postpone our opening weekend to May 31 and June 1.

On Friday, May 31, we will host our first event and first "Friday Night Under the Lights" of the 2019 racing season. USRA Modifieds presented by Rancho Milagro and American Racer USRA Stock Cars will headline the event with Super Trucks and Claimers also in action.

Then on Saturday, June 1, the Vado Speedway Park Weekly Racing Series will kick off with Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and American Racer USRA Stock Cars plus 305 Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models and Legend Cars on the racing card.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:45 both nights. General admission is $12 each night while seniors and members of the military get in for just $10. Youth ages 6-11 are $5 and kids ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge. Pit passes will be $35 each night.

Prior to the grand opening weekend, the Vado Speedway Park will host a pair of test ‘n’ tune practice sessions for drivers and teams in any division on Saturday, May 18, and Saturday, May 25. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with practice from 6-10. Pit passes will be $25 and the grandstands will be closed.

“We can't say thank you loud enough or enough times to all of our fans, competitors, sponsors and staff for their help in getting things ready to go, and for their patience during this phase,” said Vado Speedway Park General Manager Rue Stone. “We have had a lot of people visit the facility and are humbled by the fantastic comments from everybody. We can’t wait to fire up the engines and turn on the lights.”

The Vado Speedway Park is a new state-of-the-art semi-banked 3/8-mile clay oval located just off of I-10 at exit 155, then 0.2 mile north on Stern Dr. (track is on your left) in Vado, N.M.
