Lucas Oil Speedway test ‘n’ tune Saturday afternoon

After more than five months of silence, the sweet sound of race engines again will fill the air at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday with the annual Preseason Open Test and Tune, from 2-6 p.m.

Drivers for each of the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series classes—Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks and Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models—plus any others from the region are invited to participate.

"This is an ideal opportunity for drivers to get some testing done before our season opener on April 6," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "I also know our fans are eager to once again see race cars on the track and they're welcomed to come out as we'll open up the grandstands for free. It'll just be good to see everyone after a long, cold winter."

Grandstand admission is free and pit passes are $25 ($10 for ages 5 and under). Pit gates will open at 11 a.m. and there will be limited concessions behind the pit-side grandstand.

There is a chance of rain in the extended forecast for Saturday. Lorton said speedway officials will monitor the weather and adjust, if needed, in an effort to get the session in. Monitor the Lucas Oil Speedway Facebook page and other social media platforms throughout the week for possible updates.

The season-opening program for the Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series Spring Opener presented by Benne Media is set for April 6.
