Springfield Raceway adds Sunday event

Springfield Raceway owner/promoter Jerry Hoffman has announced a special event on Sunday, Oct. 14, to help the Willard High School Project Graduation Night featuring the high horsepower of the USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods competing as part of the program with Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points awarded in both classes.

Danny Martin Trucking has stepped-up as the presenting sponsor of the USRA Modifieds as they compete for $1,000 to win and $150 to start while running a 33-lap feature on the quick quarter-mile clay oval. There will be a $50 entry fee per car for the USRA Modifieds.

The always-exciting Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will battle for $400 to win and $50 to start the feature.

Action will also include Late Models, Midwest Modz, Legends and Pure Stocks.

The pit gate will open at 1 p.m. with hot laps at 4 and racing at 4:30. Pit passes are $35. Grandstands open at 3 p.m. with admission $20 and kids 12 and under free.

Willard High School is approximately 6 miles from the Springfield Raceway and the small town community has provided some very talented drivers to the area. A portion of each grandstand ticket will be donated to Willard High School Project Graduation. Willard Project Graduation will have a bake sale and hold a 50/50 raffle too.
