Petty goes back-to-back in Out-Pace USRA B-Mod action at Lebanon
Lebanon Midway Speedway's Out-Pace USRA B-Mod track champion Sam Petty got the advantage on polesitter Robbie Ewing at the start and then pulled some distance from Ewing in the final five laps to take his second straight Fall Series Shootout win Saturday night in action presented by S&S U-Pull-It Auto Parts.
Petty bypassed some higher-paying events n the area to concentrate on the track's Fall Series schedule along with the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.
Petty and Ewing kept the action hot and heavy in the 15-lap caution-free feature while Brian Myers and Donnie Jackson had a nice battle for the third spot.
With the win, Petty extended his Fall Series points lead as runner-up Tyler Brown was not present. Last season, Petty and Brown battled to the wire until Brown held on for the season sweep. Petty is hoping to do the same this year by sweeping both the Summer and Fall Series titles.
Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points action will resume on Saturday, Oct. 13, following the Summit USRA Nationals at the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-6.
