Springfield Raceway ready for Saturday night action

The "Quick Quarter" of the Springfield Raceway will roar into action Saturday night, July 7, on the high-banked clay oval in Springfield, Mo.

Coming off last week's outstanding racing program, this Saturday will prove to be just as exciting with action featuring USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, plus Midwest Modz, Pure Stocks and Legends Cars.

With several tracks altering the schedules due to the Independence Day Holiday and drivers chasing Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national and regional points, USRA Modified track points leader Jody Tillman might find the competition level getting even higher than normal. Tillman is holding back James Thompson for the top spot as Thompson and his Hayden Machinery No. 11 getting back on track to the front. Both Tillman and Thompson are just barely outside the top 10 as drivers are shuffling spots.

Out-Pace USRA B-Mod points leader Jackie Dalton holds third in the national standings and many area drivers are geared for action. Both USRA-sanctioned classes are open draw with passing points setting the feature line-ups.

Racing begins at 7:45 p.m. with hot laps at 7:15.

Springfield Raceway... where the action never disappoints the racers or the fans.
