Bumper Jones won the USRA Modified main event.

So many beautiful things have been written, spoken and shared about Jason Johnson in the last week. The racing community has experienced a huge loss. We ask that you all continue to keep his family, his race team, his friends, and all who have crossed paths with him in your prayers. In our own tribute, we honored Jason the best way we know how: racing.

The Holley USRA Stock Cars never disappoint at the Southern New Mexico Speedway, and Saturday night was no different. After winning his heat race, the main event was not so kind to Pete Vargas as he would make contact on the firs lap and lost a tire and rearend.

Jed Smith, Mark Morris and Donavon Flores battled up front along with Jason Josselyn for most of the race, but it was a late-race yellow that was the deciding factor as Flores found the high line and cruised by to take the lead with three laps to go.

Smith came in second, followed by Morris, Bryan Bennett and Paul Telles Jr. rounding out the top five.

Donavon Flores won the Holley USRA Stock Car main event.

The USRA Modifieds put on a fabulous tribute to Jason Johnson with 38 drivers checking in to make five heat races, two "B" mains and closing out the night with a 41-lap "A" main.

With just one yellow flag in the race, Carlos Ahumada Jr. led the first 10 laps and then, near the halfway poiint, Bumper Jones took the lead. As Jones was in lapped traffic, he was passed by Jake Gallardo, who had worked his way up to the front in commanding fashion.

The last lap five laps saw back and forth lead-swapping between the pair, both sharing the low line and high lines throughout. Lapped traffic came into play in the swap and, ultimately on the last lap, Jones made it stick took the lead for good.

Gallardo and Ahumada were second and third, followed by Jimmy Ray and Royal Jones.
