I-35 Speedway Racin' for Rian this Saturday

This Saturday June 23, at the I-35 Speedway is an opportunity for the racing community to give back with the 7th Annual Racin' for Rian. We love our fun and our racing and, yes, we will have fun and we will have racing. But in the process, we will be giving back to St. Luke’s Foundation. This event has become an annual occasion started by Bud and Amanda Wilson when they lost their baby, Rian, who was born four months early in 2010.

The I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off Interstate 35. Make plans now to assist the racing community in supporting our local community. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., hot laps start at 6:15 and racing begins at 7 p.m. Adult tickets are $12, seniors (62 and over) are $10 and anybody 18 and younger gets in for free.

With the passing of Bud Wilson this past winter, the Wilson family is continuing this tradition. The Wilsons have collected and donated over $20,000 to the St. Luke’s Foundation Intensive Care Nursery Fund since starting this event. They gain this money through sponsorships, T-shirts sales and drivers doing a collection in the grandstands. Racin' for Rian T-shirts are currently on sale so please contact Paula Wilson Murphy at (660) 635-0639 as a race fan purchasing a T-shirt is helping with this event.

Lot of races and lots of fun this Saturday, June 23. Make your plans to be there and be a part of the racing community helping out another part of our society.
