Bumper Jones won the USRA Modified feature on Rancho Milagro Fan Appreciation Night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway.

Rancho Milagro Fan Appreciation Night was a great sight for dirt track racing. Fans gathered with family and friends Saturday to pack the Southern New Mexico Speedway for the return of the USRA Modifieds and Holley USRA Stock Cars.

The Holley USRA Stock Cars had the crowd on their feet in their feature race.

Three-wide for the lead and for fourth lasted a while with Lloyd Turner, Mark Morris and Tyler Beiter going for the lead until Turner got spun by Beiter after racing hard off of turn two. Turner and Bieter would not continue.

Morris got to the lead and raced away from the field to pick up a well-deserved win for his team.

Mark Morris won the Holley USRA Stock Car feature.

Thirty USRA Modifieds checked in for battle with Bumper Jones showing who’s boss. Jason Keeler led the opening round until Butch Reid Jr. battled on the outside. Jones creeped through the top of the race track until finding more speed on the bottom. He led with his father, Royal Jones, jumping to second while Christy Barnett and Fito Gallardo battled for third with Barnett winning that battle.

Jimmy Ray then got a high line program. Ray turned faster lap times than the Joneses, and with only a handful of laps to go Ray passed Royal Jones for second. Meanwhile, Bumper Jones got caught up in lapped traffic on the bottom. Ray caught the leader and went three-wide for the lead in turn three. Ray took the lead until Joe Lackey checked up in front of Ray, sending him off the track in turn four.

Bumper Jones cruised the rest of the way to victory once again in a crazy dance in lapped traffic.
