Iron Man Challenge competitors are back behind the wheel this week as they embark on a three-night excursion through Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 31 through June 2.

All three events will feature the Holley USRA Stock Cars presented by Medieval Chassis and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Pace Performance.

Action begins Thursday at the Sioux Speedway in Sioux Center, Iowa, for the Ver Hoef Automotive Summer Celebration Spectacular, and will feature the Tri-State Late Model Series presented by Sybesma Graphics rounding out the three-division card.

The pits will open at 5 p.m., grandstands open at 6 and racing begins at 7:30. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for seniors ages 60 and older, $5 for kids ages 9-12 and children ages 8 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $30.

On Friday, the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, will host the first of two Iron Man Challenge events at the popular 3/8-mile dirt oval at the Lyons County Fairgrounds, with Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stocks, Sportsmans and Late Model Street Stocks also in action.

The pit gate will open at 5 p.m. and grandstands open at 5:30. Driver registration cutoff is 6:30 with hot laps at 7 with racing to follow. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 7-14 and free for kids 6 and under. A pit pass will be $25 for everybody and you must be at least 12 years of age to enter the pits.

On Saturday, the Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, Minn., will host the tripleheader finale with Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA Tuners and Sportsmans rounding out the night’s featured classes.

The pits will open at 4 p.m. and grandstands open at 5 with the drivers meeting at 6:45 and hot laps getting underway at 7 p.m. with racing to follow. Grandstand tickets are $11 for ages 17 and over, $7 for ages 13-16, and kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $30.

The Nobles County Speedway is located at 1600 Stower Dr. in Worthington, Minn. Five-time USRA national champion and two-time Iron Man Challenge champ Mitch Hovden of Decorah, Iowa, leads the standings in the Holley USRA Stock Cars presented by Medieval Chassis. Fellow Decorah driver Dillon Anderson trails by just three points after winning the most recent event last Sunday at his hometown Upper Iowa Speedway.

In the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Pace Performance, defending series champ Dan Hovden padded his points lead with a dominating performance on Sunday at his home track, becoming the fifth different winner in five events during the 2018 campaign for the Iron Man Challenge.
