Kevin Anderson (417) holds a slight advantage over defending track champion Brett Heeter (05) in the Holley USRA Stock Car points battle.

This Friday,May 25, racing on the river’s edge at Lakeside Speedway is presented by RockAuto.com. Featured classes are USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, plus Grand Nationals, Factory Stocks and E-Mods.

For competing drivers, the speedway is pleased to announce it will award three Valvoline oil six-packs and three driver pit passes during events in each division throughout the night, with the prizes awarded based on mystery finishes. It's not just the drivers who will have something extra to shoot for. The fans will also have a shot at some extra prizes during intermission activities.

During last week’s main events, defending Holley USRA Stock Car track champion Brett Heeter returned to victory lane. Former Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national champ Andy Bryant struggled during his last Lakeside appearance but there was no struggling for him last Friday as he dominated the main event. Stormy Scott’s USMTS weekend washed out up north so he dropped in to help Tim Karrick with a new VanderBuilt Race Cars chassis and took the victory in the USRA Modifieds.

In the championship points race, Kevin Anderson sits ahead of David Oxford and Heeter in the Holley USRA Stock Cars. Although Tim Powell has dominated Out-Pace USRA B-Mod action this year, he holds a narrow lead over Brad Smith, who is followed by Jake Richards. In USRA Modifieds, Nic Bidinger is on top of the standings with Mark Schafman and Kerry Davis well within striking distance.

Speaking of championship points races. Lakeside Speedway made the announcement during the off-season about the championship points fund for drivers with a guaranteed points fund in all divisions. Drivers are reminded they must race in 75% of Lakeside Speedway weekly races to become eligible.
