Jackie Dalton won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod make-up feature on Saturday, April 28, at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo.

A busy night of Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action was held Saturday night at the quick quarter-mile Springfield Raceway with double features.

In USRA Modified action, Springfield's James Thompson let the race come to him as he passed leader Jody Tillman with only two laps left in capturing the first feature in USRA Modified action. Thompson took his Hayden Machinery No. 11t to the top side in a surprising move on the leader Tillman in the rained-out make-up feature.

In the second feature, Ryan Gilmore played the searching and patience game in passing leader Tillman with only five laps remaining in the USRA Modified feature. Gilmore, the defending Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national champion, found the sweet spot on the track searching while gaining on Tillman in his Danny Martin Trucking/Hoffman Race Cars machine.

In the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod make-up feature, multi-time USRA Modified track champion Jackie Dalton found his way to his first win of the season. Dalton, who had an offer to sell his equipment in the USRA Modified class in the off-season and put together a deal to compete in the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod class, took the opening lead from J.C. Newell and never looked back in grabbing the win.

In the regularly scheduled feature, Gilmore grabbed the top early in the feature after a spirited battle with Dalton and polesitter Bobby Pearish. Gilmore, who struggled early in the season, found a distributor issue causing him some early race exits and has been on a roll by winning the last three Springfield features and a couple of wins last weekend in New Mexico.

James Thompson won the USRA Modified make-up feature on Saturday, April 28, at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action continues next Saturday night, May 5, at The Springfield Raceway in both the USRA Modified and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.
