Officials at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., have announce that they are continuing their partnership with the United States Racing Association for the 2018 season.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions competing at the historic 4/10-mile clay oval include USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods. The track's Grand National, Factory Stock and E-Mod divisions will follow Lakeside Speedway track rules.

All classes will see a significant increase in the points fund that will be paid out in all divisions and total more than $20,000. Including points funds from the USRA, the track will dole out a points fund of $6,075 for USRA Modifieds, $3,225 for Holley USRA Stock Cars and $5,025 for Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

The amount of the points fund for each class is the minimum guaranteed amount, and equates to an increase of more than 50% over the total payout for the 2017 racing season. Drivers must compete in at least 75% of Lakeside Speedway weekly points races to be eligible for the increase.

"We feel our decision provides our drivers a great points fund, while offering them the competitive edge that USRA has to offer," said Lakeside Speedway promoter Pete Howey. "We would like to thank all of ours drivers for a great 2017 season. We would also like to thank our fans and sponsors and looking forward to a great 2018 season."

The Lakeside Speedway is located 1.0 mile west of I-435 (exit 18) on SR 5 (northwest of Kansas City). For more information, call (913) 299-9206 or visit lakesidespeedway.net.
