Ground Breaking Ceremony set for Aug. 18 in Vado

The time has come that we have all been waiting for. All fans, drivers, officials, sponsors and media are invited join us on Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the all-new Southern New Mexico Speedway in Vado, N.M.

Located just north of the Chevron station at exit 155 on I-10, this is going to be a new chapter in our sport that we all love. The multi-purpose, 127-acre motorsports complex is expected to include a dirt track, go-kart track, sand drags and an amphitheater that can seat as many as 5,000 spectators.

It is expected to be operational by 2018 and once it's built, the current Southern New Mexico Speedway will close down.

A special thank to you to Royal Jones for his continuous support of the sport of auto racing, and for investing the time and resources to give racing fans in the Southwest United States a state-of-the-art motorsports facility we will all be proud of.
