Atchison County Raceway opener pushed back

It goes without saying that if you are in Atchison, Kan., or can read the radar, we are rained out for Saturday night, April 29.

We are getting a lot of saturation now with much more to come throughout the day.

That is the negative. Now for the positive...

The one-week delay gives us something to look forward to next week. Opening night is a special event here and now we have one more week to look forward to it as well one more week for racers to get ready.

The facility looks great, the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series flag is flying, the checkered flags are flying, the wall of champions is up and ready for last year's champions to be added. Victory lane is complete with Alps and Prairie Band Casino & Resort signs in place.

Now all we need is great weather next Saturday night, May 6. See you there and until then "Don't be afraid of the Cage."
