Torres triumphant at Southern New Mexico Speedway

The Holley USRA Stock Cars kept the energy rolling Saturday at the Southern New Mexico Speedway.

Friday night's winner, Pete Vargas, had a good opportunity to clean sweep the weekend by starting on the pole, but spun in the opening corners of the race. Vargas went to the back and Jason Josselyn took over with Nathan Smith to his outside.

Josselyn took off to lead until the first caution flew on lap 4 for debris in turn three. On the restart, Victor Colobrio "catfished" the Southern New Mexico Speedway and got around the Josselyn on lap 8.

A caution flew six laps later for Nathan Smith and Jed Smith going around in turn 4. Colobrio led again after the restart with Jaime Torres working his way to second before another caution flew to make it a green-white-checkered finale.

The last restart came to Torres's favor as he captured the main event win. Colorbio, Josselyn, Zach McCoy and Donavon Flores rounded out the top five.
