Torres, Ray find the front at Western Tech Speedway Park

EL PASO, Texas—It was race night again Friday at the Western Tech Speedway Park with the Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods back in action.

Holley USRA Stock Cars with a full 20 laps tonight and it was the 53 of Garret Sterns leading lap 1. Lap 2 would be different from the rest though because Jason Josselyn would come from 3 lengths back in turn 1 to take it three wide for the lead! The 74 was hooking and booking to the front in that one as a gutsy move there. A caution would come out after which is a tough break for the 74 who was trying to pull away up front. Rebunch the field and the 74 with a good start but the 44Jt of Jaime Torres all the way from the back to the lead. Torres on a rail as he heads for the bumper of the 74. Josselyn holding strong up front in the good air as he starts to pull from the 44Jt once again. The 13 of Victor Colorbio in third was headed right at the 44Jt but Torres must have felt him coming because back on the gas he got and cleanly away again. Josselyn looking to pull too far again this time but another yellow would cost him the gap yet again. On the restart things couldn’t go much better for the 44Jt who chose the inside lane in row 2. The 74 would get a little high as they entered one and Torres wasting no time and kicking the cracked door wide open! It would be a drag race down the back but Jaime Torres on the gas with a little better spin coming into turn 3 and the 44JT stealing the lead from the 74 who fought hard for that one. That would be the ball game as Jaime Torres didn’t hesitate one time in this one and took it to the house. The 74 of Josselyn would have a couple more chances with a yellow flag but never quite there to make it happen. The 74 with a ton of smoke at the end of this one but holding it wide open to hold of the 13 of Victor Colorbio charging hard. The 44JT of Jaime Torres with yet another win tonight though as he shows the power of the slider. Jason Josselyn happy to be in second after that smoke late in this one. Victor Colorbio rounding out your top 3.

Out-Pace USRA B-Mods would give it a shot next and it was the 38 of Hector Prigione leading early in this one from the pole. The 3H of Noah Hollingshead and the 7c of John Carney Sr would be all over him quickly and lap 3 it was the 7c going outside turn 4 to steal the top spot away into turn 1. The 7c would try and steal the show but things being made difficult by cautions and the fact that the 3h of Hollingshead was all over him. The 44 of Christie Georges Barnett also on the move tonight as 8 into this 20 lapper she was on a grind to get the lead. Barnett making quick work of the 3h for second in that one. She was headed straight for the back of the 7c to battle for the lead but a caution would put her there anyways. The 9 of Jammin Jimmy ray was on a drive from the rear as he found himself in third before the restart. A clean restart would give the lead the to the 44 with 8 to go but things where far from over. The9 of Jimmy Ray was right on her quickly. A little car trouble for the 44 would cost her a two time win tonight as the 9 of Jimmy Ray taking full advantage and leading the last 4 laps to get a clean win tonight. Christie Georges Barnett would hold it together for a second place tonight in her first run in an Out-Pace USRA B-Mod this season. The 7c of John Carney sr bringing it home in third tonight.

If you missed the action this weekend then don’t do the same next weekend as we go modified racing for one of the final times at Western Tech Speedway Park! Gates open at 5:30 with racing at 7:45. Don’t be late and bring your friends because things are gonna get slideways.
